An hour and a half by boat from the mainland, Digir Island sits within Guna Yala, where daily life remains closely tied to tradition. During this assignment for FIMI, I documented a community deeply committed to preserving its cultural identity, passing down dress, knowledge, and practices to younger generations.
At the center of this story is Leida, a Guna leader who works alongside a committee of women overseeing agriculture. Together, they prepare and farm land on the jungle-covered mainland, cultivating food that sustains the entire community.
